The Threshold Community Cafe is at Welton Village Hall from 10am - 12 noon. Come along and enjoy some delicious cakes and a cuppa. There will be board games to play, morning papers to read and a craft table. This event is free - donations only which will go to a local charity.


Lantern Walk for Baby Loss Awareness Week starting at the Robert Hardy Building, Bishop Grosseteste University at 6pm. There will be tea, coffee and cake and a chance to chat with family and friends as you collect your lanterns and prepare to walk to the Cathedral. At 7pm lanterns will be lit to symbolise the wave of light and the walk will begin. Once at the Cathedral the Lincolnshire Military Wives Choirs will sing as you light a candle. The event is free but you need to register at ulhcharity.org.uk/event/lantern-walk-25.


There's a Live Music Concert of Greatest Hits featuring Fusion at St Germain's Church in Scothern at 3pm. Tickets cost £7 and include light refreshments, available from Jan on 07745 240439 or Jane on 07774‍ 737194.


History Walk at Hartsholme Country Park from 11am - 1pm. Join in a guided walk to discover the history of the park. The event is free and you are asked to meet outside the Visitor Centre at 11am. If you would like more information ring 01522‍ 873735.

Heath U3A meet in the Village Hall and Library in Bracebridge Heath at 2pm when the speaker will be Nigel Lowey talking about the transformation of St Pancras station, which promises to be fascinating. Everyone is welcome to come along as a guest and there is a £2 contribution towards the cost of the speaker and refreshments.


Lincoln & District Parkinson's Support Group meet from 10.30am - 12.30pm in St Columba's Church Hall, Brant Road, Lincoln when the speaker will be John Campbell, former Dean's Verger at Lincoln Cathedral.

Green Synergy are holding a Green Dementia Activities Cafe on the second Tuesday of each month at 49 Roman Pavement in Lincoln from 1 - 3pm. If you, or someone you are living with or caring for has dementia, come along for fun, friendship, refreshments, conversation and activities, which will include a walk down memory lane reminiscing or a real walk down to the garden, arts and crafts, puzzles, music, cooking and more. All this for just a £1 donation.


Dunston Community Cafe will be open at the Methodist Church from 9 - 11.30am with delicious refreshments, barista coffees, a range of teas plus homemade cakes, toasted tea cakes and toast.


Westerley Care Home in Woodhall Spa are having a coffee morning from 10.30 - 11.30 when cakes and drinks will be available and there will also be tombola. Everyone is welcome and funds raised will go to the residents fund.


Nettleham WI meet in the Village Hall at 7.30pm when the speaker will be Elaine Johnson talking about The Tales of Beatrix Potter. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

Horncastle History & Heritage Society meet in the Community Centre at 7.30pm when Dr Ian Marshman will be giving a talk entitled Horncastle in World War 2. He will share stories of life on the home front, from aid raids to evacuees, as well as the experience of soldiers stationed in the town. Admission is £2 for members and £5 for non members and everyone is welcome. There is no need to book, just pay on the door, and tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.


There's a Community Yoga Class at the Mint Lane Wellbeing Hub in Lincoln at 10am. It's a gentle yoga, breathing and mantra class which is suitable for all abilities. Mats are provided and the cost is £8 and £5 for concessions. Contact oldwoodorganig.org for more information.

Hanworth Country Park at Potterhanworth are having a Comedy Night with doors opening at 7pm. A night of stand up comedy with five comedians who will take the stage and battle it out for the title of Audience Favourite. Tickets cost £15 per person and it's strictly 18+.


There's a Quiz Night at Nettleham Community Hub with doors opening at 7pm and the quiz starting at 7.30. Refreshments will be served and alcoholic beverages will also be available. Due to the popularity of this event all bookings must now be made via the website.


A Streetcar Named Desire at the Lawn, Union Road, Lincoln with doors opening at 7pm for curtain up at 7.30. In Tennessee Williams' iconic classic, faded Southern Belle Blanche unexpectedly visits her estranged sister Stella, bringing with her a past that will threaten their future. There will be six performances between the 16th and 25th and tickets can be obtained from lawnlincoln.com. Please note there are scenes of violence and implied sexual assault.

There's a Quiz at Bucknall Village Hall with doors opening at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Are you ready for a nigh of trivia and fun? Come along for this special quiz night and put your knowledge to the test with the entertaining and challenging quiz questions. Teams of up to 6 people and it's £5 per team. There's also an optional Beat the Quiz Master Round with a cash prize and it's 50p per person to enter. It's raising funds for the Bardney Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club and is in memory of former Quiz Master Steve Hall.


54 North Ceilidh at Canwick Village Hall from 7.30 - 9.30pm. Come along for a fun and social evening of dancing or just sit back and watch and enjoy the live music with a refreshing drink from the bar. All dances are taught on the night so it's suitable for beginners and experienced dancers.


RAF Swing Wing at the Terry O'Toole Theatre in North Hykeham at 7.30pm. An evening of big band brilliance as the RAF Music Charitable Trust brings together the professional musicians of the RAF. There will be classic big band swing featuring iconic tunes made legendary by Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Tommy Dorsey. A night of unforgettable music awaits you. Family Bingo at Martin Village Hall with doors opening at 6.30pm and eyes down at 7. A fun filled evening of family cash bingo with five games, followed by a short interval, and then another five games and the flier round to end the night. There's a fully licensed bar with a selection of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, and tasty snacks will be available throughout the evening.


Friday 17th and Saturday 18th October
Nettleham Oktoberfest at Mulsanne Park, Nettleham. In a joint venture between the Cricket Club and Football Club this is Nettleham's first ever Oktoberbest. There will be four different German beers on tap, plus jumbo sausages and traditional music. Entry is free and the event runs from 5 - 10pm on Friday and 1pm - 10pm on Saturday.

Lincs Kids Autumn Family Event is happening at the Natural World Centre at Whisby Nature Park from 10am - 3.30pm. This free event will showcase activities, venues and offers with lots of fun stuff to do for children and grown-ups throughout the day.


It's Metheringham Fayre and Feast from 2 - 10pm, with stalls, food and drink, activities and crafts. There's also family entertainment with little birdie mini golf, a dog show and a magician, plus live music.


There's a Family Karaoke Night at Martin Village Hall at 7pm when you can go along and join in a sing song. The bar will be open with a wide selection of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, so if you fancy singing or simply spectating you will be very welcome.


Through the Decades at Horncastle Methodist Church from 10am - 2pm. The day's events will include displays of interesting items, pictures etc. from over the past 60 years including music, transport, food, communications and fashion and also the Chapel's 60 years. Hot food will be served from 11.30am - 1pm and tea, biscuits and cakes will be available all day.


Brant Road Social Club in Waddington are holding a Charity Night in aid of the Alzherimer's Society with an ABBA Tribute Band, Dream ABBA. Tickets cost £8 each and are cash only from the bar. Doors open at 7pm. There will also be an auction and a raffle. Come along to support a worthy cause which unfortunately touches a lot of people's lives.


There's a concert in Nocton Church performed by the Digby Military Wives Choir at 7.30pm. Entry is free and there will be refreshments and a retiring collection.


Nettleham Community Choir Autumn Concert takes place at 7pm at All Saints Church in Nettleham and all proceeds will go to St Barnabas Hospice and other local charities. Tickets cost £5 and include refreshments and are available from choir members or Liz McIntosh on 07713‍ 746679 or you can email nettlehamcommunitychoir@gmail.com.


Pick your own pumpkins at Redhouse Farm, Waddingworth from 6 - 10pm. Join in for a fabulous night of pumpkins, fire, music and delicious food and drinks. There will be a silent disco and a licensed bar. Entry is £8 per car and you can book online.


There's a lunchtime talk at Lincoln Castle from 1 - 2pm entitled Lucy Tower Graves and it's given by Malcolm Ross. Between 1829 and 1877 forty three burials took place in Lucy Tower, including men, women and three children. Twenty of these were executed within the castle walls. This talk focuses on three of those prisoners and you can find out about their crimes, trials and deaths - and more. Tickets cost £5, including complimentary tea and coffee and booking in advance is essential.
